There are many ways to configure your Toyota to meet your individual transportation needs. Explore the options our conversion partners and adaptive equipment providers offer to fit your lifestyle and preferences.
If you’re unsure what options are right for you, we recommend you consult with a Driver Rehabilitation Specialist.
Lowered-floor wheelchair-accessible Siennas allow users to travel in the front, center passenger positions or rear. Removable seating can be configured to allow drivers to either transfer into the driver's seat or drive from their wheelchair.
Choosing the option that's right for you means less compromise—and greater mobility.
This conversion includes a complete reconstruction of the van's floor by cutting out the original and replacing it with a purpose-built floor that adds inches to the height of the door opening for easy entry and exit. As the door opens, the vehicle also kneels to make the ramp angle as low as possible, making it easier for those in a manual wheelchair to get into their van. The foldout ramp is an industry standard and has been proven safe over years of service. When deployed, the ramp is perfectly flat, then folds in half and stores against the curb-side door for travel.
Foldout ramp Siennas are available from BraunAbility.
Siennas featuring an infloor ramp represent an interesting twist on the traditional foldout ramp by storing the one-piece ramp under the floor. Just like the foldout, this conversion includes a complete reconfiguration of the chassis and has the kneeling feature. The infloor configuration means the floor stays hidden until needed, allowing you to choose the style that suits your taste.
Infloor ramp Siennas are available from BraunAbility and Vantage Mobility International (VMI).
New Vehicle Limited Warranty
New Toyota Siennas converted for wheelchair access are warranted under the same terms and conditions as Toyota's New Vehicle Limited Warranty; conversion-related modifications are warranted by Toyota's conversion partner. Your wheelchair-accessible Sienna also comes standard with Toyota Care, the complimentary car maintenance plan that includes 24-hour roadside assistance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Siennas converted for wheelchair access also qualify for Toyota Mobility Assistance—details on reimbursement submission are available through your local mobility dealer.
Where to Buy
For a wheelchair-accessible van, visit your local Toyota dealer. A Toyota sales professional will assist you in locating a mobility dealer offering the Sienna model grade, color combination and equipment you prefer. Toyota has a formal referral system with our conversion partners that allows tracking of your order as it’s delivered through your preferred mobility dealer.
"Adaptive equipment" is the term that applies to aftermarket devices, typically installed by a mobility equipment dealer, enabling people with disabilities to drive or be transported in a vehicle.
We offer the following information as a guide—a mobility equipment specialist, such as one who belongs to the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association, can better advise you on the best solution for you.
Lift-up Seats
We’re excited to offer the BraunAbility Turny Evo seat for those looking for the lift-up seat solution. It’s the top-selling vehicle transfer seat for SUVs, trucks, and vans that moves completely outside the vehicle and lowers down to your desired level.
Lifts
Lift products easily raise, store, and allow transportation of an unoccupied scooter or wheelchair. Vehicle lifts are compatible with most Toyota cars, trucks and SUVs. Refer to the Common Adaptive Equipment chart below to check compatibility.
The chart below shows the types of conversion and/or adaptive equipment available for Toyota vehicles. Hand controls, steering devices and left foot accelerators are available on all models.

Mobility equipment dealers offer scooter and hitch load wheelchair carriers designed to mount on tow hitches. Although towing hitches are designed to carry and pull items, vehicles have limitations on the load that can be applied to the hitch.
Maximum Tongue Weight is the maximum amount of weight that can be applied vertically to a tow hitch. Mobility equipment that mounts to a tow hitch applies weight vertically to the hitch. In general, the maximum tongue weight is calculated as 10% of the vehicle's towing capacity rating. The towing capacity values for Toyota vehicles are based on using a genuine Toyota towing hitch and can be found in the Toyota Owner's Manual.
Confirm the weight of the mobility equipment being installed. Ask the mobility equipment dealer for product weight information for both carrier and scooter.
